In Luke 1:46-55 (NIV), Mary gave a Magnificat,
A hymn of praise and acknowledgment of a wonderful appreciation of God’s promise to her. She would be a mother of the savior of the world. She recognized that “From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me,” Luke 1:49.
Also, though Joseph was abandoned, enslaved, betrayed, and estranged by his family, God eventually took his pain and suffering away and became second-in-command of Egypt. The suffering he experienced and the kindness from the lord inspired him to name his children Manasseh and Ephriam, to pay homage to the lord’s actions (Genesis 41:50-57.)
In David’s case, he began his thanksgiving at a temple. He states in 1 Chronicles 29:13, “Now our God, we give you thanks and praise your glorious name,” and continues in the following verse, “But who am I, and who are my people that we should be able to give generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we give you only what comes from your hand.”
We must and should give thanks to God. He makes all things beautiful in His own time. Amen.
Thank you for reading. I will post again on July 21!
