The Journey of Life: Part 2

The Journey of Life series continues, but this time with a focus on the church.

The church is mentioned in the bible severally, such as in 1 Corinthians 1:2, 12:13, and chapter 17. Acts 2:42, Romans 16:5, Hebrews 12:23, Ephesians 2:19, Galatians 1:2, and in many other places. Basically, what can be garnered from these scriptures is that the individual is a church that, through Evangelism, gets others to believe in Jesus Christ. Thereby, forming a community of believers. The Bible in Matthew 18:20 states, “For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.” Also, amongst these communities are people with different giftings for the roles they will perform in the church. Ephesians 4:11 has a list of such: that Christ himself gave, “the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors, and teachers.” These are to provide leadership in the church and ensure the word of God is spread correctly. Additionally, the Bible also provides a criterion for the leadership positions and a criterion for the converts. This criterion can be found in Acts 20:28, 1 Timothy 3:2-10, and 2 Timothy 3:16-17. However, all members of the church must believe in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. They must believe that he is the Son of God, his virgin birth, that he lived on Earth and performed miracles, healed people, believe in his eventual delivering and redeeming humanity from damnation, which would have ended in Hades, before he was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead, inadvertently defeating death, and all members should have a passion for evangelism. Additionally, they should be committed to putting the messages of 1 Timothy 2:1-5, Acts 2:6-18, 1 Corinthians 14:26, Titus 2:1-15, James 1:27, and Galatians 3:28 close to their hearts so that these passages can guide them in their conduct in and out of the gathering of their community.

1 Timothy 2:9-15 describes the conduct expected of women in church, a topic that has been discussed by many. Today, there are women in the ministry. They believe that God has called them to fulfill marvelous things for His kingdom. For example, I am a woman, and God has given me the ability to share the Christian view and principles on my blog. I received the call from God when I was eleven years old. The words that appeared to me were Matthew 11:28, “Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” I enjoy writing these posts and sharing the Lord our God’s insightful messages.
