This post concludes the topic, “Journey to Heaven.” It is about the prediction of the coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of God on Earth, and his accomplishments before his departure into heaven.
In the Old Testament, his coming was predicted in Genesis 49:10, Isaiah 7:14, and Isaiah 53, then in Zechariah 9:6 and Micah 5:2. He came as was predicted, and shepherds from the fields and wise men from the East came to worship him, as recorded in Matthew 2:1 and Luke 2:4-7. At home, where he lived with his parents, Mary and Joseph, doing what families do, he stated his purpose when they wondered at his actions. In Luke 2:1, “Why were you searching for me?” He asked at this instance. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my father’s house?” Not long after he started his ministry.
This is recorded in the three gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and the book of John. They wrote extensively about his birth, his life with his parents, his teachings, miracles, exploits, relationship with his heavenly father, betrayal, conviction, crucifixion, death, resurrection, and finally, his departure into heaven. In those various circumstances, he seeks to teach that mankind can live an exemplary life committed to the tenets of the Bible. And it’s a simpler way to heaven. In John 14:6, he states, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” Therefore, a concentrated life of repentance, when the Holy Spirit convicts, then total surrender to the Lordship of Christ, and confessing and renouncing sin, and a commitment to reading the Bible daily. So, one, according to James 1:22, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
Then, as the Holy Spirit leads, one evangelizes to those still in darkness. We are enjoined according to 2 Timothy 4:2 to “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instructions.”
Now that you know these, start doing them in your everyday living activities as the Holy Spirit teaches.
Thank you for reading this post. The next one will be on 4/27/26.
