To love God is to hold Him in awe and wonder at his creative abilities. What he does cannot be done by anyone else. A demonstration of God’s love for us human beings was the death of Christ. Jesus Christ died for us sinners so that we could be forgiven (Romans 5:8 NIV). Moreover, he promised humanity, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) The first, and greatest commandment, in Matthew 22:37-28 states, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” The reason we humans love is because we were first loved by God. (1 John 4:19)
