The initiator of battles is told, “A man reaps what he sows” (Galatians 6:7-9). I am in this instance using the example of Joseph to buttress my point. He brought the plan of God for him to the knowledge of his family in Genesis 37:7-11. They interpreted it negatively and refused to accept the plans of the Lord and thereby set up their own plan for Joseph. They sold Joseph as a slave in Genesis 37:38. This notwithstanding, the plans of the Lord prevailed. Joseph became the prime minister of Egypt, and his family bowed down to him in Genesis 41:1-57.
What I can deduce from the foregoing story is that, though his family made him suffer by selling him as a slave, where he was wrongfully accused of wrongdoing and sent to prison, they suffered a famine (Genesis 42:1-2).
“The righteous person may have troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all” (Psalm 34:19). Sow good seeds always, when it is convenient and when it is not.
