A Caring Lord: 2

Throughout the Bible, God has shown that he is a caring God through his only begotten son and the Holy Spirit. For example, in Hebrews 13:5, he says, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have. Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” If we obey his statutes and laws, this is a blueprint of his abiding presence.

His desire for us is to seek first His Kingdom, “And all other things will be added unto us.” (Matthew 6:33) He taught us not to worry, “Look at the birds of the air: they do not sow nor reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them,” (Matthew 6:26.) Instead he inspires us to pray like this for provision:

“Our Father who in heaven

Hallowed be your name

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread

And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.” Matthew 6:9-13 NIV

From this prayer, we know he is capable and true. He is according to Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who can do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us.”

Thank you for reading! I will post again on March 17.
