The Bible explains in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
According to Romans 5:8, God exemplifies his love for humanity, but God demonstrates his own love for us in this way: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
The things Jesus did to protect us are described in Isaiah 53:5,“But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was in him, and by his wounds we were healed.
Christ’s death made a pathway for us to come to God. Humanity lost this when Adam and Eve committed treason in the Garden of Eden before being driven out (Gen. 3:23-24). Jesus made it possible for us to reconnect to God, and only when we are born again (John 3:1-21). Being born again is a spiritual transformation that involves acknowledging one’s sinful nature and confessing it to the Lord.
This means that they made a decision to never repeat the sin again, instead giving prominence to Jesus as savior and living a life of biblical teaching. This includes reading the bible and speaking in tongues, according to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
